Application - Tips & Techniques

Most women are used to a liquid foundation application for any coverage. The switch to a powder that is applied in small amounts and gives instant coverage may take some practice. Minerals, just glide on the skin with one of our professional brushes, will give you the perfect coverage.

  Tips
A little goes a long way (mineral powders are really concentrated and contain no fillers). It takes a few applications to learn how to apply Mineral Powders for your skin type properly.

Apply the minerals in thin layers. Continue adding layers until the desired coverage has been reached

Make sure moisturizer has completely absorbed

Apply with Kabuki for light to medium coverage. Blend out with the Flocked Sponge.

Wet-Brush Foundation Application (For Heavy Coverage)Shake a bit of the foundation into a small bowl. (Using the jar lid is not recommended for this application method.) Lightly spray your brush with spring water or hydrosol (floral water) until the bristles are moderately damp.

Swirl your brush in the powder, making sure to work the powder into the bristles. Softly buff the minerals into your skin, using small circles. This will give you heavier coverage with a matte finish.

To set makeup for a long lasting matte finish, dust Face Powder over your foundation with Kabuki brush.

Use your favorite moisturizer and mix with mineral powder to desired consistency and color to Convert Loose Minerals to a creamy liquid foundation or concealer. One shade will suit a wide variety of skin tones (minerals are light reflective).Use a bronzer. It makes the skin come alive.

Right and wrong color choosing - The best way to test for the right color is to do it on the jaw line in daylight. The color should disappear if it blends perfectly with the skin, or come close to looking like your skin tone.

Don't know where your cheek bones are? SMILE! Cheekbones become more prominent when you smile. Start at the apples of your cheeks or slightly above and sweep the brush back into the hairline.

Bronzer: Sweep up with your perfectly round blush brush and lightly apply to the areas of your face where the sun would naturally highlight your features (forehead, cheekbones, nose and chin).

Shaping the Brow: Whether you are trying to achieve a natural or bolder evening look, the brows frame the eyes, as well as the face, and are an important step in your overall look. It is easier to shape your brows by applying color to small sections at a time and alternating between brows as you go.

For long lasting lip color, first line your lips with a liner that closely matches your neutral lips. Never use a lip liner darker than your lipstick or gloss! For more staying power, fill in entire lip with liner. Once lips are lined, apply lipstick using a lip brush or a very steady hand, apply lipstick and blot with a tissue. Add gloss for a beautiful smile. Use our lipstick sealer

USE WET: if your brows have bare spots that need filling in or the shape needs to be created.
